I would like to go to Africa as a volunteer, what should i do?
VSF does not have funding to send volunteers to the field. Our needs in the field are also very specific and fairly specialized. On top of that we often work in insecure areas. Please visit the page on volunteering where you will find more information on the needs and possibilities also with other organisations.
Why do you help animals and not people?
In fact our mission is to help people but we do this through ensuring healthy animals. A healthy herd is of major importance to improve the living conditions and even survival of small-scale farmers in developing countries.
Does VSF work with wild animals?
No, we focus our work on supporting and improving the livestock sector and therefore work mainly with sheep, goats, cattle and poultry etc. These animals ensure direct food and revenue to livestock keeping families in a sustainable manner.
